Safe Use Of Climbing Frames
If your parents are anything like mine, they think you worry about your children far too much, my father takes great pleasure in recounting times when he would open the front door and get me out of the house for hours on end, but todays world is far different and there are many different safety aspects to consider when your children are concerned. When your children are taking an interest in Outdoor play equipmentwere never a safety issue, they werent as common as they are today but then climbing trees more than made up for that, but today climbing frames present many safety issues that parents feel they need to worry about and protect their children from, so to get you started here are a few key safety points to consider with climbing frames.
Climbing frames provide kids with the opportunity to exercise, socialise and learn coordination skills so it’s a great way of letting you child grow and develop naturally, if you have bought and assembled your own climbing frame it is important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully and place the play system ou should also place the climbing frame on a solid and level piece of ground in an area that cannot be accessed by the public. Two other points to remember when it comes to climbing frames is to supervise young children at all times while they are on the apparatus to keep them safe and within their limits, its also good practice to prevent you children from playing in the climbing in wet or stormy weather. There are two main types of climbing frame, these being wooden and metal and both variants offer many advantages and disadvantages to both parent and child alike, wooden frames are larger and last longer than their metal counterparts but they are a lot stronger so much more suitable for older children, metal frames are lighter and easier to assemble but will corrode over time and will not hold as much weight as a wooden one.
There are many safety issues to consider when climbing frames are concerned and its important to take them into account when letting your children play on climbing frames, but please do remember to not let the safety rules you set and enforce hinder the fun and joy your child gets out of a climbing frame. Climbing frames are intended to be a fun and social activity for your kids and it’s also important to keep that in mind so as they can experience independence and gain more confidence.
